据《好莱坞报道者》报道，知名动作沙盒游戏《正当防卫》将被搬上大银幕，环球影业负责发行，目前制作团队已经基本确定，由执导了《蓝甲虫》的Ángel Manuel Soto担任导演。
此外，Story Kitchen的Dmitri M. Johnson、Mike Goldberg和Timothy I. Stevenson也会担任制片人。值得注意的是该团队有不少制作游戏改编电影的经验，比如《古墓丽影》和《刺猬索尼克》电影版。
