2024年5月18日，是第48个“国际博物馆日”，中国主会场设在位于陕西省西安市西咸新区秦汉新城的“陕西历史博物馆秦汉馆”。
开幕式上宣布了《第五批国家一级博物馆名单》，共计123家博物馆上榜。
截止2024年共有327座国家一级博物馆。
