据中国地震台网正式测定，4月15日2时16分在青海海北州门源县发生4.5级地震，震源深度10公里，震中位于北纬37.78度，东经101.24度。
据悉，震中距门源县城55公里、祁连县97公里、海晏县101公里，距海北藏族自治州97公里，距省会西宁市138公里。
据中国地震台网速报目录，震中周边200公里内近5年来发生3级以上地震共61次，最大地震是2022年1月8日在青海海北州门源县发生的6.9级地震，距离本次震中仅有2公里。
