开发商Gunfire Games发布了《遗迹2》的新补丁更新，宣布游戏正式加入跨平台联机功能，平台包括Xbox Series X|S、PS5和PC，主机版默认情况下为开启状态，可在菜单中手动选择关闭。
Gunfire Games的总裁兼游戏总监David Abams在一份新闻稿中表示：“跨平台联机一直是《遗迹2》中玩家要求最多的功能之一，我们的社区一直在耐心等待这个功能的推出。我们很高兴现在发布这个更新，因为团队一直在努力使它成为现实”。
除此之外，David Abams还确定了《遗迹2》将推出更多游戏内容，包括第二个付费DLC。
