此前有传闻称富士X100V的继任机型或被命名为X100R（这里的R代表着日语中“六”的读音ROKU），不过近日有爆料者称该机型的命名为X100VI。此前X100系列第2代后缀是Second的“S”，第3代是“Third”的“T”，第4代是“Fourth”的“F”和英语单词的首字母，而从第5代开始则改为罗马数字“V”，看来第六代也将延续罗马数字的命名方式。
