兖矿能源近期在接受调研时表示，新疆准东五彩湾矿区四号露天矿一期项目2023年1月取得发改委项目核准批复，建设规模为1000万吨/年。预计于2025年上半年建成投产。四号露天矿一期项目建成投产后，预计鲁西矿业及新疆能化合计核定煤炭生产能力将达到约5000万吨/年。
