很高兴认识你，您能介绍一下自己和您的家人吗？

你好Miya! 我也很高兴认识你，我叫 Olly Wells 何欧立，我是哈罗海口的新任校长，我和我的妻子还有两个孩子，一起来到哈罗海口。我在伦敦出生，并在谢菲尔德和伦敦攻读了我的本科和研究生学位，我来到中国已经8年了。

这是您第一次在海岛上工作吗？您感觉如何？

这是一个好问题，这确实是我第一次在“小”岛上工作，但因为我是在英格兰出生，它是英国的一部分，它其实也是一个岛屿，是一个更大的小岛，所以我相信在海南岛上生活，也会和在英格兰岛上生活一样有趣！

非常感谢你的提问，Nemo同学。我选择哈罗的原因是因为哈罗学校的教育理念和我本人的非常相近，同时我相信AISL哈罗集团也会非常支持我和其他教职员工把优质的教学带给我们的学生。

您如何理解领导力？

我理解的领导力是设定目标，前进的方向和要与团队要达到的效果，同时你有能力带领组织里的所有人。互相理解、团结协作，指导和教导，这需要很多沟通工作，同时你还需要保障团队所需要的一切资源。

什么契机让您进入教育行业？可以和我们分享一下您的背景信息吗？

我进入教育行业的契机是《哈利·波特》，我记得我第一次读到《哈利·波特》，当时翻开的应该是第二部，我还在读大学，我当时觉得特别震撼，因为学生在霍格沃兹里学到的东西太神奇了！所以我决定进入到教育行业成为一位计算机老师，因为我也想成为能给学生带来魔力和灵感的老师。

在我二十多年的教育旅程里，我总是尝试让我的计算机课程足够生动有趣，当然我也帮助其他老师，把魔法也带到他们的课堂中。

您在中国工作了多少年？您在中国的经历中最棒的部分是什么？

我在中国已经工作了八年，我和妻子在我们有孩子之前就来到了中国，因为我想确保我能掌握基础的中文交流，这样才能充分融入到中西融合的家庭生活中。

我们都很享受学习中文、学习中国文化、融入中国文化。我特别喜欢茶文化和饮食文化，每到一个新地方我们都积极探索，我也总是被大家的热情好客所感动。我很高兴能成为哈罗海口的一员，我期待着能认识你们每一个人！

Can you please introduce yourself and your family?

Hi! It's nice to meet you, too!

My name is Olly Wells, I'm the new Headmaster here at Harrow Haikou. I'm here with my family - my wife and two children. I was born in London, and I studied in Sheffield and also London. I've been here in China for 8 years now.

Is this your first time to work on an island？

That's a really nice question. This is my first time living and working on an island of this size, but I was born in England which is part of the United Kingdom, which is actually an island as well, just an island that's a bit bigger, so I feel that living here on an island will be just as much fun as living in England.

Why did you choose Harrow Haikou?

Thank you very much for the question, Nemo.

I chose Harrow because the educational philosophy of Harrow is very closely aligned with my own, and also that Harrow is such a good education group that I know will support me and the teaching staff to be able to deliver an excellent school for the students.

How do you understand the Leadership？

I understand leadership is being about setting a vision, goals and direction of an organization, and then making sure that all the people in the organization understand that vision and are able to deliver their part of it. That requires a lot of conversations, coaching and mentoring, and also securing the resources people need to deliver on those plans.

What brought you into education？

I came into education because of Harry Potter.

I remember when reading Harry Potter, it struck me that the education got at Hogwarts was really magical, so I decided to go into education to become a computer science teacher, because I thought I could bring magic to the classroom. Over my 20 years plus education career, I've tried to put magic in the classroom in my lessons, but also I've tried to help other teachers to be able to make their lessons exciting and magical too.

How many years have you worked in China？What's the best part of your Chinese experience？

I've been working in China for eight years. I came to China with my wife before we had children, because we wanted to make sure that I learned enough Chinese language, so that I could be a full part of everyday life in the family. We’ve really enjoyed living in China and I’ve particularly enjoyed the Chinese cultural elements to learning Chinese, like tea culture and food culture.

As we get to know different parts of China, I have been incredibly touched by how friendly and welcoming Chinese people are. I'm really pleased to be here at Harrow Haikou and I look forward to getting to know you all!

The new term is about to begin, and with our anticipation and excitement, Mr. Olly Wells will bring his deep knowledge of international education, cutting-edge ideas and educational mission to lead us through a new chapter of Harrow Haikou!
