2 月 26 日，俄罗斯卫星新闻网报道披露，为了阻止俄瓦格纳雇佣军进攻，乌克兰军队炸毁了位于巴赫穆特的 Severny Stavok 水库上的一座大坝。
瓦格纳 PMC 的新闻官披露，大坝被炸毁后，水库的水已经进入居民区，当地居民的私人住宅和地下室被洪水淹没。
巴赫穆特位于顿涅茨克东北 55 公里处，是为顿巴斯的乌克兰部队提供补给的重要交通枢纽。
