在年初特斯拉全系降价，特斯拉对国产Model 3/Y只要22.99万元起。过去至少两个月内，特斯拉都在悄然升级上海厂产线，以为新款Model 3作准备，受停产安排影响，部分员工最早本周日开始就不再允许上线。
新款Model 3的变化将是从内到外，幅度不小，包括大灯、4680电池、一体式底盘工艺、yoke矩形方向盘、AMD锐龙中控芯片（车载电脑）、高达20核2.35GHz的HW4.0自动驾驶平台等。
