去年夏天在巴黎的时候，我去橘园看了热盼数年的莫奈名作——《睡莲》。当时漫溢的情绪推动了我的次日吉维尼花园之行，走入了克劳德·莫奈生活了长达43年的地方，试图寻找他为何对自然，特别是对睡莲如此痴迷的答案。

Last summer while in Paris, I went to the Orangerie to see the Nympheas that I had not seen for so many years. The emotion was so strong that the next day I went to Giverny’s Garden where Claude Monet lived for 43 years to try to understand his fascination and obsession for nature and especially for water lilies.

这种痴迷不禁让我联想到陈春木画笔下的纯自然世界。画家陈春木在福建泉州山区长大，成长过程与大自然密不可分，但若仅凭此来诠释其作品，未免太过狭隘。

This obsession made me think of Chen Chunmu pictorial world which concentrates solely on nature. Chunmu was also surrounded by nature as he grew up in the mountainous area in Quanzhou, Fujian but it would be quite reductive to explain his work just by that.

陈春木不断探索自然的力量：有形与无形的自然、地上与地下的自然、壮丽与恐怖的自然。我们观赏其作品时，有时仿若爱丽丝梦游仙境，有时仿佛置身于满是食肉植物和危险生物之地，神秘莫测，险象环生。

Chen Chunmu goes much further by exploring the forces of nature: the visible and the invisible; the nature above ground and the underworld; the magnificent and the demons. Looking at his work we sometimes feel like Alice in Wonderland and some other times we experience the anxiety of a mysterious and dangerous ecosystem filled with carnivorous plants and dangerous creatures.

在其绘画语言中，人类从未出席。然而，他对于自然的描画仿佛在隐喻人类对潜意识生活的探索，描画梦想、欲望、恶念和幻觉，饱含着我们实现希望和奇迹的能力。陈春木画笔下的世界矛盾横生。

Humans are absent in his pictorial vocabulary. However, his description of nature feels like a metaphor for each one of us exploration into our own subconscious life filled with our dreams, desires, demons, hallucinations and capacity of hope and wonder. A world full of contradictions.

陈春木魄力惊人，拥有无惧矛盾的品格。其作品诠释着世间万物，除了美丽娇艳的花儿。

Chen Chunmu is a man of strength and character not afraid to confront these opposites. His paintings are everything but pretty and colorful flowers. This a pictorial Rhapsody.

陈春木工作室与Temple东景缘相距37.01公里。距离对我来说有点像去吉维尼。

37.01kms separate Chen Chunmu Studio to Temple DJY. Distance wise it feels for me a bit like going to Giverny.
