粉红椋鸟是国家二级保护鸟类，属于迁徙性候鸟，以蝗虫为主要食物。在牧民眼中，它们是草原的守护者。近年来，新疆昭苏县大力实施“筑巢引鸟”计划，搭建人工粉红椋鸟巢13处，共计4800平方米，有效提升草原虫害防控能力。
