北京时间1月22日，据山东广播电视台体育频道体育新闻主编夏晓司报道，徐新转会海港近期就会官宣。
夏晓司写道：
山东泰山队当初和徐新签订的是1+4的合同，其中的1合同到期时间是2022年1月31日，如今在国家队，有国足助教作为谈判人，徐新加盟海港已基本敲定，很可能近期官宣。而且这个亚军一口气谈了泰山队四个人，只有徐新走了。
