趁圩是茂名传统习俗，每个镇每个月都约定几天作为集市的固定交易日。每逢圩日，农民就会把自家种植的瓜果蔬菜等“土货”，摆在摊位前，全镇的人都来“趁圩”，挑货购物。9月23日，茂名庆祝2021年中国农民丰收节暨高州市乡村“趁圩”活动启动仪式在高州市分界镇杏花村举行，此次“趁圩”活动将开展至9月30日，为期一周。
