2021年6月15日，埃塞俄比亚电信公司首席执行官Frehiwot Tamru宣布在该国西南地区推出4G LTE服务。
她表示，4G网络服务的扩展正在加速该国的社会经济改革。
她还指出，埃塞俄比亚电信公司正在努力让该国公民能够尽快使用上互联网服务，迅速开展社会经济活动，这还将使企业的运作更加轻松。
埃塞俄比亚电信最近在Jimma、Agaro、Beddele、Bonga、Koisha、Mettu、Mizan和Teppi镇推出了4G LTE高级服务。
