3月26日晚7时20分，交城县庞泉沟镇护林员张祖杰等人驾车前往县城，在路经柏叶口水库时，发现一只体型硕大的野生华北金钱豹，正由西向东过水库公路，由于公路西侧是水库缓坡，这只豹子估计是饮水后正准备返回山林而与路人不期而遇。
