"根据许多气候学家的计算，到2050年，在极端情况下到2060年，北极极有可能在夏天将普遍没有冰层覆盖。"
维利凡德说，40年来，北极的冰原在一直在迅速减少。
早前，利兹大学科学家的研究显示，在过去23年的研究中，地球表面冰川的融化速率显著提高，到2017年，增加了65%。
