2020年10月30日下午，华为举办了年度旗舰新品发布盛典，其中华为Mate40 RS保时捷设计典藏版亮相，外观上更不同。
华为Mate40 RS保时捷设计典藏版在外观上有着与普通版不同的外观设计，可以看到，尤其在后置摄像头的设计上有所不同，采用了星钻设计，后盖采用纳米陶瓷工艺进行打造。颜色分为黑色和白色，而外观设计上也延续了超跑设计语言。
在配置上，华为Mate40 RS保时捷设计典藏版支持最高100倍变焦拍摄，后置5摄像头，还有着红外测温传感器，采用双扬声器设计，支持AI手势操作。
