6月16日，公安机关在工作中发现，网民刘某拍摄了内容为“完了完了，某某小区确诊一例新冠肺炎患者，连小区也出不去了，还得隔离了”的视频，并发到其单位群中。该虚假信息被迅速传播，造成公众恐慌。刘某的行为违反了《中华人民共和国治安管理处罚法》，公安机关对其处以行政拘留7日的处罚。
