当地时间5月31日，美国白宫附近多处地点发生火灾，地标性建筑、被称作“总统的教堂”的华盛顿地标建筑圣约翰大教堂被烧。抗议者点燃美国国旗、停放的汽车和建筑物。而面对外面外面示威者聚集抗议闹得沸沸扬扬，白宫却默默关上了外部的大灯。
