William Safire是《纽约时报》的专栏作家，他提出过若干条写作中必须遵循的“语法规则”。为了让读者理解这些规则，他故意用一个错误的句子来解释一条规则，让人读来忍俊不禁。从这期开始，我们来解读他的这些规则：
*Avoid run-on sentences they are hard to read. 所谓的run-on sentence就是该用标点符号的地方不用，让句子不断句。比如这句话本身就是个run-on。
*Don't use no double negatives. 别用双重否定句。这个句子本身也是错的，因为don’t和no本身就构成了双重否定。
* Use the semicolon properly, always use it where it is appropriate; and never where it isn't.这个句子的意思是说要正确使用分号。而作者故意在句中把分号用错：在properly后面应该用分号，而在and前面其实该用逗号。
* Reserve the apostrophe for it's proper use and omit it when its not needed. 许多人分不清its和it’s，这句话也是故意在句子用错，提示大家注意。
* Do not put statements in the negative form. 别用否定形式来提出一个论点。这句话就恰好用了否定。
* Verbs has to agree with their subjects. 动词需要与它们的主语相呼应。这句话中的主语verbs是复数，而动词本应用have，却用成了has
* No sentence fragments. 别把碎片当成句子。上面这句话不是句子，因为没有动词。必须同时具有名词+动词才能成句（省略句除外）。
* Proofread carefully to see if you any words out. 仔细检查，看看少了什么。这句话you 后面没有动词，显然是病句。
* Avoid commas, that are not necessary.避免不必要的动词。此句中的逗号就是多余。
