千古爱莲说，莲花颂美德，湖湘有濂溪，君子自高洁。5月30日，端午节，为弘扬先祖周敦颐先生的千年理学，传承周氏后裔“持家修身，爱莲世泽”的旷代文脉，周氏后裔集居地、荣获全国生态文化村的西岭镇平安村，隆重举行“纪念周敦颐先祖诞辰1000周年”家祭大典。
