北京时间8月14日晚，明尼苏达森林狼官方宣布，将在明年当地时间2月28日的比赛当中，退役球队传奇加内特的21号球衣。
另外据记者Brett Siegel报道，退役仪式将在森林狼对阵凯尔特人的比赛结束后举办。而森林狼挑选这一天的原因是为了让凯尔特人也能来到现场参加，加内特曾在凯尔特人效力6年，并曾随队夺得2008年总冠军。
加内特生涯为森林狼出战970场，场均可以得到19.8分11篮板4.3助攻，他的得分、篮板、助攻、抢断、盖帽数据至今仍是队史第一。
