8月4日，微信回应网友希望上线“临时好友”功能的诉求时表示，部分场景可不必添加好友，并介绍多项免加好友的实用功能。面对面可扫码传输照片文件、接收红包，无需消耗流量。远程支持向银行卡、手机号直接转账。线下还可通过面对面建群，输入四位密码快速组建临时群组，沟通结束后不会留存通讯录好友。
