乌克兰对里海上的伊朗船只发动了袭击。德黑兰随即召见乌克兰驻伊临时代办，指责基辅方面采取了“敌对和犯罪行为”。
此次海上事件发生之际，美国海军正维持着海上封锁，国际油价亦出现下滑。
伊朗官方尚未公布船只具体的受损情况与人员伤亡信息。乌克兰方面对此暂无公开回应。
