当地时间7月17日，巴西总统卢拉在活动中表示，绝不接受任何其他国家不尊重巴西的行为。同时，针对美国与巴西之间的关税问题，卢拉表示，要等美国总统特朗普先表态，巴西才会回应。他表示，“对巴西撒谎是行不通的”，美国不能靠谎言“愚弄巴西社会”。
