7月16日晚，在乐事薯片中吃出“蓝色薯片”异物的消费者发帖称，其已经收到乐事方面发来的情况说明。
A social media post on Sunday claiming that a consumer had found what appeared to be a "blue potato chip" inside a bag of Lay's chips sparked widespread attention online. Days later, the company released the results of its investigation, saying the object was actually a colored verification chip used for quality control during production.
该说明显示，乐事收到其寄回的薯片，经核实，异物为工厂使用的着色验证薯片，用于确认设备和流程的稳定性，是食品生产过程中常用的工艺验证手段之一。
乐事表示，工厂使用的着色剂符合GB2760《食品安全国家标准 食品添加剂使用标准》相关要求，不影响食品安全与品质，请消费者放心。
Lay's confirmed that after examining the returned chip, the "foreign object" was identified as a colored verification chip — a standard quality-control tool used to monitor production equipment and ensure process stability.
The company said the food coloring used in the verification chips complies with China's national food additive safety standard (GB 2760) and poses no concerns when it comes to food safety or quality risk.

该消费者称，乐事方面亦提供了相关的异物分析报告，可证明官方说法准确，但是该报告涉及商品其他信息，她不便公开。乐事方面还邀请其参观工厂。该消费者表示，其诉求是获得异物的情况说明，并退回该袋薯片的购物款，这两项诉求已得到解决。
The consumer said she also received a detailed laboratory report supporting the company's explanation. She chose not to make the report public because it contained additional product-related information. Lay's also invited her to visit its production facility.
She added that her two requests — a formal explanation and a refund for the bag of chips — have both been met.
南都·湾财社记者向乐事相关负责人了解异物调查进展，以及工厂着色验证薯片掉入正常销售薯片的原因，截至发稿，尚未收到回复。
