三菱汽车7月9日表示，将在日本工厂启动人形机器人量产。三菱汽车与其投资的新兴企业Highlanders共同开发的人形机器人将于2027年左右投产，并率先导入自有工厂使用，未来还将考虑对外销售。公司将在生产发动机的京都工厂闲置空间新建生产设备，月产能计划为1000台。
