随着日本国脚佐藤龙之介加盟瓦伦西亚，他也成为了瓦伦西亚一线队队史首位日本球员。
据统计，瓦伦西亚青训学院及梯队中，此前曾有两名日本球员效力，分别是2013-2014赛季效力于瓦伦西亚梅斯塔利亚（二队）的指宿洋史与曾在瓦伦西亚青年A队效力的铃木轮太朗。
而加入瓦伦西亚一线队的佐藤龙之介成为了瓦伦西亚一线队队史首位日本球员。
