在以色列持续军事袭扰与封锁围困之下，加沙地带的粮食危机日益严峻。为获取赖以糊口的粮食，巴勒斯坦农民铤而走险，到以军划定的"黄线"附近抢收种植的小麦。
当地农民表示，近年来，当地小麦一直歉收，收获的小麦只有2、300公斤，只够家里人糊口。此外，以军的占领也侵占了巴勒斯坦农民的农田。
