当地时间6月2日，日本东京电力公司开始从福岛第一核电站2号机组的乏燃料池中取出核燃料。在发生事故的1号至4号机组中，3号机和4号机已完成相关作业，2号机是第3个开展此项工作的机组。
根据东京电力公司介绍，当地时间2日中午开始，工作人员使用起重机将长约4米、重约250公斤的燃料组件逐一吊起，并在水中将其装入金属容器，该容器直径约1.4米，长度约5.6米。（央视新闻）
