2026年5月28日凌晨2时40分左右，G40沪陕高速河南省南阳市桐柏毛集段K991+800处，一辆车牌号为鄂F8A7L8号大通客车（核载9人，实载16人）追尾前方一辆半挂货车，目前已致13人死亡、3人受伤。
事故发生后，公安部派出工作组赶赴南阳，指导事故调查处置工作。
