兰州五泉山的猛醒亭，保存着一口金代铁钟。这就是有名的泰和铁钟。此钟在兰州已有近千年岁月，经历了日寇轰炸，而硕果仅存。目睹了文革之事，而安然无恙。以前，经常有孩童，投掷石子，砸向铁钟，以此听钟声。如今为了保护它不受无知孩童袭扰，又给它加了保护隔挡。
