4月19日，沙特能源公司宣布与其主要买家沙特电力采购公司（“SPPC”）就大型联合循环燃气轮机发电厂——即拉比格2号独立发电厂（IPP）扩建项目——签署购电协议，合同价值为115亿沙特里亚尔。该项目位于沙特阿拉伯麦加省，发电容量为2313.5兆瓦，沙特能源公司在该项目中持有40%的有效股权。
