Dylan Mingo和UNC的合作还没开始就已经结束。这位五星控卫2月17日刚宣布加盟北卡，4月13日双方就确认分道扬镳——间隔不到两个月，连正式签约都没来得及。
变故的导火索是换帅。3月24日Hubert Davis被解雇，NBA冠军教头Michael Malone接任。Mingo上周末与新教练组会面，结果双方决定"move in a different direction"。换句话说，新帅看不上这位前任留下的礼物。
UNC的新管理层动作很快。他们刚签下Virginia Tech的Neoklis Avdalas，周一还在接待Utah转学生Terrence Brown，同时派人去Salisbury追Wake Forest的Juke Harris。Mingo成了阵容洗牌的第一张弃牌。
Mingo去年春天在Nike EYBL打了12场，场均19.3分7.8篮板。他当初拒绝Baylor、Penn State和Washington选择了UNC，现在承诺作废，招募大门重新敞开——Alabama、Louisville、Texas等老东家还在等回复。
唯一的好消息是McDonald's All American Maximo Adams选择留守。他周六放话会honor his pledge，算是给动荡中的北卡留了点体面。
