American economist Richard Wolff explained that the US decision to wage war on Iran is driven by three main domestic political factors. First, it aims to divert public attention from America's relative decline by projecting an image of military strength, he said. Second, it seeks to distract from the escalating political fallout of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, which threatens to expose more powerful figures, Wolff added. Finally, it is a tactic to deflect from the severe economic crisis, especially the growing wealth gap and the shrinking middle class, he noted.
