北京时间2月25日，中国男篮官方公布了明晚对阵日本队的12人名单，胡明轩、赵嘉义落选。
值得一提的是，这是郭士强指导出任男篮主帅以来首次将胡明轩摒弃在中国男篮12人正赛名单之外，此前郭指导上任之初还曾任命胡明轩担任男篮队长。
在男篮世预赛首个窗口期的两场比赛中，胡明轩表现持续低迷，两场合计运动战13投0中，仅靠罚球得到4分。
