2月23日，有游客发视频称湖南宁乡市一村庄，“村干部砍樱花树阻止游客进村”。
24日，当地村干部称，事发点为当地尚未开发完成的景点，砍树者是本村村民，起因是对部分游客踩踏庄稼不满。目前村里已安排流动垃圾箱和引导员维护秩序，欢迎各地游客前来赏花。
