应中方邀请，英国首相斯塔默于1月28日至31日对中国进行了正式访问。英中贸易协会（CBBC）总裁白彼得（Peter Burnett）就此在北京接受中国日报网专访时表示，此次访华最重要的成果是中英商界信心的显著提升，两国领导人的会晤将有力推动中英双方扩大贸易往来、增加相互投资。
