绘画作者刘旦宅（1931—2011），原名浑，又名小粟，别名海云生，浙江温州人，著名海派国画大家、国学修养深厚，曾任上海师范大学教授、上海美协副主席。他自幼早慧，工写兼长，尤擅古典人物，取法汉唐气象与陈洪绶、八大山人之精髓，线条清劲，墨韵雅健；书画相映，形神兼备，是海派人物画的标志性人物。
