实验室通过对德州地区19981例献血者血样进行系统筛查，仅发现这一例Jk(a-b-)血型，其稀有性远超过人们熟知的“熊猫血”（Rh阴性血）。数据显示，“熊猫血”在中国人群中的比例约为千分之三，而“钻石血”的出现频率仅为万分之一到数万分之一。
