今天（1月19日）上午，内蒙古包头市召开新闻发布会，通报包钢股份板材厂爆炸事故相关情况。发布会通报，18日15时03分，包钢板材厂炼钢作业部的一个650m3饱和水、蒸汽球罐发生爆炸。截至目前，爆炸已造成厂区内2人死亡，8人失联，84人受伤在院治疗。
