当地时间1月15日，在美国对委内瑞拉采取的军事行动中牺牲的32名古巴人员遗体被运回古巴。数千民众冒雨聚集在街道两侧迎接，并且高呼"誓死保卫祖国"。
1月16日上午，古巴首都哈瓦那将举行大型公众集会悼念逝者。当天下午，这些军事人员遗体将由专人护送，返回各自故乡进行安葬。
