1月上中旬，“和平意志-2026”海上联合演习将位南非西蒙斯敦附近海空域举行，中国、俄罗斯、南非等金砖成员国参演。此次联演课题为“维护重要航运通道和经济活动安全的联合行动”，将组织反恐营救、对海打击等科目演练，安排专业技术交流、舰艇参观互访等活动。联演旨在进一步深化参演各国军事交流合作，提高共同应对海上威胁能力。
