北京时间1月7日，据知名媒体人“球圈赵探长”报道，中国男篮前主帅张斌加入北控教练组担任顾问。
赵探长表示：据探长了解，此前担任过中国篮协青训总监、中国男篮&八一男篮教练、深圳&青岛男篮助教的张斌指导，加入北控男篮教练组，担任顾问一职。
北控男篮近况不佳，联赛前11轮仅获得4胜，排名联赛第17位。
