12月31日，准格尔旗交通运输局发布公告，为深入践行以人民为中心的发展思想，落实城市公共交通优先发展战略，提升民生保障水平、缓解交通拥堵，准格尔旗决定实施城区范围全民免费公交民生工程，2026年1月1日起， 准格尔旗境内所有人员，凭有效身份证件、公交卡、市民卡或乘车码，均可免费乘坐公交。
