1977年拍摄的查理·卓别林的最后一张照片。他在同年12月去世，享年88岁。
他在瑞士度过了晚年，他的最后一张照片当时和他的妻子奥娜一起坐在轮椅上。几个月后因中风去世。
卓别林的晚年生活可以说是充满了坎坷，因为他的政治观点和电影作品而遭到美国政府的排斥和迫害，被剥夺了入境权，不得不在1952年离开美国，移居瑞士。
