12月22日晚，上海图书馆严正声明，澄清近期网络传上海图书馆拍卖翁氏藏书并牟利一事纯属谣言。翁氏藏书自从2000年入藏上图以来，一直完整保存在善本库房，而且其中有一册藏书，正在上图东馆展出。
