乌贼的瞳孔近似W形。它们的眼睛虽然无法识别颜色，却能感受到光的偏振。乌贼体内有墨腺，会在遇到攻击时喷墨来为自己赢得逃跑时间。有这样的独特视觉和保命“烟幕弹”，乌贼逃生的概率大大提高。
