日本国土交通省11月24日表示，海上保安厅的大型无人机“海上卫士”（Sea Guardian）于当地时间23日在北九州机场着陆时，其螺旋桨等部位接触跑道造成损伤。
该事件已被日本国土交通省认定为“重大事故”，运输安全委员会将对此进行调查。
