教堂始建于1899年，由沙皇尼古拉二世批准建造，设计图样出自彼得堡，俄国工程师蕾特维夫主持施工，1900年竣工，因中东铁路开发及俄罗斯侨民定居需求而建，曾被称为“远东第一东正教堂”。1966年原建筑被毁，后于伏尔加庄园复建。
